Mick said he allowed himself to become \u201ctroubled\u201d about comparisons between him and McHale.<\/p>\n
\u201cI sort of woke up and thought, different era, different environment, different circumstance – take control.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did that until about last week and it really started to get me down again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was starting to look at the negativity of what some people were saying.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some in the media have suggested there’s little care-factor for Mick breaking the record.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought: my wife cares, my kids care and I\u2019ve just probably had about 100 texts and probably about 30 phone calls in the last eight days.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought, well, they care. So if that\u2019s all that care, good, I\u2019m actually already in front.\u201d<\/p>\n
