According to Dr Rischbieth, it\u2019s four months since the government\u2019s latest offer, which only half of SA\u2019s country doctors have agreed to.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur organisation believes that there should be an opportunity for us to discuss with the government and Country Health SA so that we can have a full sign up for our doctors.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a matter of our government recognising that the current offer which has been given rural doctors is not appropriate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The offer includes a 24 per cent pay discount for doctors who attend a motor accident, requires doctors use the questionable electronic patient record system EPAS, and ignores doctors\u2019 request for a \u201cvery reasonable CPI increase\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe announcement last week by the AMA (Australian Medical Association) would put a dollar a day extra into my pocket, and Country Health SA are saying this is a major breakthrough.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t believe it is,\u201d said Dr Rischbieth.<\/p>\n
