Kane Cornes says he was hopeful but not optimistic that Monfries and Ryder would play round one.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThat was sort of my feeling,\u201d Cornes told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be a bonus if we had them, but probably preparing to not have them \u2013 and we didn\u2019t have them throughout the NAB Cup,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Previously Bombers but now Power players, Monfries and Ryder were part of the Essendon 34 found not guilty by the AFL anti-doping tribunal.<\/p>\n

Kane said he was impressed by Angus Monfries\u2019 composure throughout the supplements saga.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been amazing the whole time. I have so much respect for him and what is done the last two years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kane said Monfries was \u201cquietly confident\u201d the players would be found not guilty and had stayed positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cPaddy (Ryder) I haven\u2019t known for as long, but he\u2019s the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kane said the not guilty verdict was \u201ca big relief for those boys\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you look at our squad now, I think it\u2019s full-bore. I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anyone that\u2019s not available, so we\u2019re going to pick a really good team.\u201d<\/p>\n
