Not long after he stared a diet of so-called health foods, Damon Gameau was pre-diabetic, on the verge of heat disease and had developed fatty liver disease.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThese are symptoms that we are seeing very common in society now,\u201d Damon told Leon Byner on FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that they happened to me in such a short time, eating these perceived healthy foods, is I guess why the film has been received so well.\u201d<\/p>\n

That Sugar Film follows Damon as he embarks on his high sugar diet, but there was a catch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only sugar could I eat had to be perceived healthy foods. So lots of sugar that\u2019s hidden in foods like low fat yogurts and muesli bars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soft drinks, chocolate, ice cream and lollies were all out.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 12 days I\u2019d put on three kilos. But I guess the big turning point was after 18 days I\u2019d developed fatty liver disease.\u201d<\/p>\n
