Arman Abrahimzadeh\u2019s mother Zahra was murdered five years ago by his father, but now he\u2019s tackling domestic violence in SA through the Zahra Foundation created in her honour.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe foundation has been setup to assist the vulnerable women and children who escape those horrific situations,\u201d Arman told David, Mark and Jane on FIVEAA breakfast.<\/p>\n
It offers victims the long term help they need, including education, training and financial support, Arman said.<\/p>\n
He said he hopes to prevent victims having to return to the abusive situations from which they\u2019ve fled.<\/p>\n
When his mother was killed Arman was 22 and his youngest sister was 12.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the incident my older and sister I did become overnight parents. We really didn\u2019t have any other options.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe stuck together, we had hope,\u201d he said. \u201cThis particular trait \u2013 hope \u2013 is one that we\u2019re trying to capture within the foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n
