Leigh Matthews says the AFL Match Review Panel will be much simpler this year.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThis is all part of the fan engagement I think the AFL are trying to do,\u201d Leigh told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

He said the changes would make it easier for people to understand the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis one will be much simpler,\u201d Leigh said, referring to how the MRP operated in previous seasons.<\/p>\n

The panel\u2019s job will now be far more straightforward.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasically an offence is either regarded as careless or intentional.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s all the MRP have to decide. There\u2019s also no carry over points,\u201d Leigh said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought the old system worked ok, but it was complicated to the point that fans were never quite sure what was going on. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll be a much, much easier system for the fans to understand.\u201d<\/p>\n
