Carlton coach Mick Malthouse has dismissed concerns Ryan Crowley might have received any advantage from the banned substance he tested positive for in 2014.<\/h3>\n

Malthouse said the Fremantle Docker had made a mistake and \u201che\u2019ll be penalised no doubt\u201d.<\/p>\n

But Malthouse added: \u201cI\u2019d hardly suspect that there\u2019d be a great advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crowley tested positive to a banned substance thought to be contained in a painkiller he took.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know whether he would purposely cheat. I don\u2019t see him to be that sort of person, but who knows.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just have this feeling that Crowley\u2019s made a blunder without thinking too much about it,\u201d Malthouse says.<\/p>\n

Malthouse said players were constantly told to check anything they\u2019re unsure about with medical staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cA player that\u2019s been in the system for a long time would\u2019ve heard this regularly. You can\u2019t make it any clearer, put it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
