Adelaide Oval authority says it doesn\u2019t see how the MCG can cut its food prices so drastically.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a bit of mystery to us as to how they\u2019ll be able to do that,\u201d Darren Chandler from the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority told FIVEAA.<\/p>\n

The MCG has announced it will slash food prices by about 20 per cent across the board.<\/p>\n

The move that will see bottles of water drop from $5 to $3 will cost the ground $2 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just can\u2019t cut 40 per cent off the price of an item and run your business the same way,\u201d Mr. Chandler said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo obviously they\u2019re making significant savings somewhere or they\u2019re receiving some benefits somewhere else, and we\u2019re certainly not aware of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Chandler said there was no plan to cut the price of food at Adelaide Oval.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we feel that we can provide better value we\u2019ll certainly do that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut at the moment we believe our pricing is competitive and we\u2019ll continue to run competitive stadium,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
