Just before 1.15am on Wednesday 19 February, police and fire crews were called to near the intersection of Railway Terrace and Castle Street following reports of three small grass fires along the railway line. Those fire were quickly extinguished before they could spread.<\/p>\n
Then just before 1.30am, a brush fence fire was discovered at Gordon Road at Black Forest, the fire quickly spread to a wooden deck behind the fence and then to the house, causing significant damage before the fire could be brought under control.<\/p>\n
A neighbour who assist in fighting the blaze received burns in the incident and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Shortly after a third fire was reported in Oakley Avenue Millswood, where another brush fence was set alight. The fire spread to a gas meter which ignited. Fortunately the blaze was brought under control before it could spread further.<\/p>\n
Fire Cause Investigators and Crime Scene examiners attending each of the fire scenes this morning.<\/p>\n
Southern District police are investigating believing all three fires are linked and in close proximity to each other.<\/p>\n
