Premier Steven Marshall says pending advice from medical experts he would prefer a \u201cfly-in fly-out\u201d style AFL season over the controversial hubs plan<\/a>.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mr Marshall told David & Will on Friday\u2019s FIVEAA breakfast show:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not talking about restarting the season next Thursday\u2026 The AFL were talking about starting in a couple of months. I just say we need to look at two issues. One is the hub model which the AFL have proposed but also a modified home and away or a fly-in fly-out type arrangement.<\/p>

\u201cI think we need to put them side by side and look at the health risks of the two but also the social and let\u2019s face it the economic risks of the two models.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Earlier Mr Marshall told The Advertiser<\/a>: \u201cI think the better model is the modified home and away model.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think there are issues associated with the hub model,\u201d he told David & Will. \u201cTaking people away from their states, their supports, often their family, kids, locking them up potentially for a very long period of time. I think there are some significant social impacts and it would also be pretty economically hard.”<\/p>

\u201cIf we could keep closer to normality it would be great, but we\u2019ll wait for the health experts.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee is due to report to the national cabinet on Friday about the proposed FIFO plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
