{"id":41170,"date":"2020-05-05T14:19:30","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T04:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/?p=41170"},"modified":"2020-05-05T14:19:33","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T04:49:33","slug":"how-dining-in-restaurants-will-change-once-they-are-allowed-to-open-up-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/how-dining-in-restaurants-will-change-once-they-are-allowed-to-open-up-again\/","title":{"rendered":"How Dining In Restaurants Will Change Once They Are Allowed To Open Up Again"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fewer tables, more bookings and leaving your name and number at the door are all expected to be part of the new world of restaurant dining once the current coronavirus restrictions are eased.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Restaurant and Catering\u2019s Wes Lambert told FIVEAA Breakfast on Tuesday his association is working on guidelines for businesses to re-open in SA and around the country that will \u201clook very similar to pre-COVID, as similar as possible\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Wes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve lobbied the government to move away from the arbitrary one for four square metres. Ultimately that was a drawn down that only lasted for a few days.<\/p><p>\u201cWe\u2019re lobbying that they apply social distancing, the tables 1.5 square metres away from each other, and allow restaurants to trade bums on seats about 50-60 per cent.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wes said although downloading the COVIDSafe app was \u201cbest practice\u201d, it was unlikely to be a mandatory requirement for visiting a restaurant or caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cIn our industry we\u2019ve been taking people\u2019s names and phone numbers for ever\u2026 in our document we\u2019ve said that if the COVIDSafe app is not 40 per cent downloaded\u2026 that our industry is allowed to take names and phone numbers of guests that don\u2019t have the app quickly at the door\u2026 so that if there is an outbreak that\u2019s traced back to someone that was in the restaurant health authorities could very quickly contact people that came into contact.<\/p><p>\u201cThis would allow restaurants to open sooner.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LISTEN HERE:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-41170-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/media.acast.com\/david-will\/david-willpodcast-5may2020\/media.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/media.acast.com\/david-will\/david-willpodcast-5may2020\/media.mp3\">https:\/\/media.acast.com\/david-will\/david-willpodcast-5may2020\/media.mp3<\/a><\/audio><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fewer tables, more bookings and leaving your name and number at the door are all expected to be part of the new world of restaurant dining once the current coronavirus restrictions are eased.
