Mr Marshall told FIVEAA Breakfast\u2019s David & Will on Thursday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019re running our own race in South Australia and quite frankly I think it\u2019s going pretty well at the moment.<\/p>
\u201cI understand we want to get our Australian economy stood up as quickly as possible and that\u2019s why we\u2019re working towards a COVID safe environment for July, but if we opened up our borders now we wouldn\u2019t be talking about bringing forward the lifting of restrictions or moving towards a principle-based approach for those restrictions. We could only move as fast as the slowest state in Australia and that would hold up people going back to work\u2026 I\u2019m quite sure keeping our state borders closed for the time being is the right course of action\u2026<\/p>
\u201cI promise you we can create thousands more jobs in South Australia by keeping our borders closed at the moment\u2026<\/p>
\u201cWe\u2019ve got ourselves into a really good position and we don\u2019t want to go backwards. We\u2019ve got one shot at getting this right. There are more cities and countries around the world who have lifted restrictions only to put them back in again\u2026 we don\u2019t want to do that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
