Talking on the FIVEAA sports show, Mark Bickley put to Cornesy that \u201cthe penny\u2019s dropped\u201d for Sloane, Walker, Talia and Lynch that they will probably never play in a premiership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You write that there once. That\u2019s the ultimate goal, the only acceptable outcome to this footy season\u2026 and then you go about breaking it down into steps week by week by week, and game by game\u2026<\/p>
\u201cOnly one team can win the flag but at least you\u2019ve got to have that expectation imprinted on their brain. Eight teams are going to make the finals\u2026 why can\u2019t you be one of those teams? They can\u2019t now but it doesn\u2019t mean they can\u2019t respond with some pride.\u201d<\/p>
BICKS: \u201cEveryone needs purpose and that purpose may turn into mentoring and helping and all those things but right now I see a lack of purpose in a lot of the way they\u2019re going about it.\u201d<\/p>
CORNES: \u201cThat\u2019s inexcusable because there\u2019s pride of performance and you\u2019re getting paid big money to do it. Yes, maybe this year\u2019s out of the question, but what\u2019s wrong with next year? Why not next year? Teams turn these things around.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
