\u201cIt was always going to get worse before it got better,\u201d Premier Daniel Andrews said.<\/p>
Andrews also announced that Victorians living in the restricted areas are now requested to wear masks when they are in public and cannot maintain social distancing.<\/p>
This includes at a supermarket, in a taxi or Uber and on public transport.<\/p>
\u201cWe have started the process of getting two million masks made and we will distribute them throughout the community,\u201d Andrews said.<\/p>
The wearing of masks is not compulsory, but is a request.<\/p>
Victoria\u2019s Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said Friday\u2019s case number is \u201cugly,\u201d but the state may well record worse numbers in the days to come.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
