They were completely blindsided yesterday when they got a phone call at 11am from the SA Tourism Commission saying we\u2019re pulling the pin. They scrambled and came up with a list of questions to see if they could keep things on track. They got no answers to those questions, they got no calls from the Premier\/Tourism Minister Steven Marshall about this momentous decision. At 6pm they found out at the same time as the public and the media when it was announced.<\/p><p>\u201cThis is where it gets a bit ominous. I\u2019ve spoken to somebody, these are people who are beyond plugged in, these are the guys. Here are some quotes about The Bend and the idea that there\u2019s an alternative as the tourism boss suggested. Quote: \u2018There is no Plan B. If this falls over there are no Supercars in SA.\u2019<\/p><p>\u201cThat is the official view from Supercars Championship. They think The Bend is too far away, there\u2019s no local economy, there\u2019s no local businesses, there\u2019s not even close to enough hotels or hospitality infrastructure\u2026 they said this is it.
