SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens says \u201cthe majority\u201d of travellers who were ordered into quarantine on arrival from NSW before midnight on Sunday will be allowed to leave quarantine but they must wait until they have been directly contacted by SAPOL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commissioner Stevens said at media conference on Monday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe obviously regret the inconvenience and disruption that this has caused people who were effected\u2026<\/p>
\u201cThere are about 550 people who are in quarantine in SA having travelled from NSW. Each of those travellers are being contacted directly and will be given specific advice as to whether they will need to quarantine or not.<\/p>
\u201cThe majority of those people will be allowed to leave quarantine immediately but they must wait until they are spoken to a member of our team in SA police. Some of those people who are quarantining have been in the northern beaches area and they would still be required to quarantine for 14 days.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Commissioner Stevens said travellers who turned back to NSW at the border instead of going into quarantine will be eligible to apply for an exemption to enter SA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
