The Adelaide Croatia Soccer Club says it will pursue criminal charges over what it is calling a \u201cdisgraceful attack\u201d on one of its players during a match with Ghan Kilburn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FIVEAA Breakfast\u2019s David Penberthy reported during Tuesday\u2019s Breaking @ 8 segment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere was an incident over the weekend that is extremely serious involving some of their [Ghan Kilburn] players and also allegedly some of their supporters that is so serious it has been referred to the police. We have a string of text messages and emails and statements off social media about this\u2026<\/p>
\u201cHe [an Adelaide Croatia player] got punched in the face by Ghan players and he was knocked out. After he was knocked out allegedly fans ran onto the pitch and some of the players who were already on the pitch and they started kicking this bloke in the face when he was on the grass.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Penbo said according to reports the scene descended into an all-in brawl and ended with police arriving and multiple ambulances in attendance. The alleged victim is now out of hospital and recovering at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Penbo said in a statement from Adelaide Croatia the club confirmed it will be \u201cpursuing criminal charges\u201d and hopes \u201cjustice will prevail in light of this disgraceful attack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A SAPOL spokesperson has confirmed police responded to a report of fighting at Parafield Gardens and the matter is with northern districts police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
