{"id":52003,"date":"2021-04-09T13:46:12","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T04:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/?p=52003"},"modified":"2021-04-09T13:47:18","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T04:17:18","slug":"premier-responds-to-change-in-vaccine-advice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/premier-responds-to-change-in-vaccine-advice\/","title":{"rendered":"Premier Responds To Change In Vaccine Advice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Premier Steven Marshall says <a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/pm-announces-changes-to-the-astrazeneca-rollout-for-under-50s\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new advice<\/a> that the AstraZeneca Covid vaccination should not be given to under 50s will require a change to the state\u2019s rollout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following a meeting of National Cabinet Mr Marshall confirmed the updated advice would have implications for stages 1A and 1B of the vaccine rollout, which would now be the \u201csubject of a recalibration\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re not going to do that overnight\u2026 that work is being undertaken at the moment\u2026I think it\u2019s too early to adjust the exact deadlines today but that work will be done over the coming weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Marshall confirmed over 50s would still be eligible for the AstraZeneca jab which he said was still \u201csafe and effective\u201d for that demographic. He also said anyone under 50 who had already had the AstraZeneca vaccine should still have their second dose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier PM Scott Morrison confirmed the Australian government had secured an additional 20 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine &#8211; expected to be available before the end of the year.
