The F1 in Melbourne has now been cancelled two years in a row and this is about challenging our entire state to be bold to be optimistic, to be forward planning, to have the commitment and the confidence to pitch world class events whenever the opportunity comes around&#8230;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Shahin confirmed he had been in contact with F1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had long term contact with F1 as I do with all of the governing and controlling bodies in motorsport\u2026 this is about putting ourselves in a position to pitch for these global events when they come around. If it doesn\u2019t happen this year let\u2019s put ourselves in the best position for the next time it comes around\u2026 or the time after that.<\/p><p>\u201cNo individual and no company brings these incredible global events to a city or country \u2013 it\u2019s always governments\u2026 it needs a lot of collaboration.
