{"id":87263,"date":"2023-03-20T07:19:56","date_gmt":"2023-03-19T20:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/?p=87263"},"modified":"2023-03-20T09:27:02","modified_gmt":"2023-03-19T22:57:02","slug":"thousands-without-power-in-adelaide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/thousands-without-power-in-adelaide\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands Without Power In Adelaide"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UPDATE, 9:25am: More than 30,000 properties across Adelaide are currently without power.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By 9:20am this morning there were 82 outages and 120 reports of power lines down since 3am after strong winds ripped through the outer metro and foothills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to SAPN:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crews are working to safely restore power as soon as possible. Crews from our regional depots have also been brought in to assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have extra inspectors out assessing the damage, and vegetation crews to cut back fallen branches and trees, as well as support in logistics and inventory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, it is difficult to estimate the power restoration times in each area as it is likely there are multiple faults impacting the power supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vast majority of planned maintenance has been cancelled for Adelaide area. Any jobs still proceeding are critical.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You can sign up for <a href=\"https:\/\/pamp.apps.sapowernetworks.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SAPN notifications and outage updates here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 15,000 thousand properties around Adelaide were without power by Monday morning following strong winds overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/david-and-will\/tom-doedeeback-on-fiveaa-breakfast-for-2023\/embed\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write\" width=\"100%\" height=\"180\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"Tom Doedee back on FIVEAA Breakfast for 2023\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sapowernetworks.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SA Power Networks<\/a> is currently reporting there are 51 outages affecting 17,413 customers. Current outages stretch from Yatala Vale to Onkaparinga Hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"993\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-993x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-993x1024.jpg 993w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-291x300.jpg 291w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-768x792.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-194x200.jpg 194w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-23x24.jpg 23w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-35x36.jpg 35w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map-47x48.jpg 47w, https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map.jpg 1047w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 993px) 100vw, 993px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are reports of gusts of up to 85km\/h overnight. More than 40 power lines are down and SAPN\u2019s Paul Roberts is asking people to be patient.
