Starting this coming weekend at the Adelaide Oval, all 11 home games \u2013 they\u2019ve totally banned gambling advertising\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe two players who are going to be the faces of it for Adelaide are Anne Hatchard and Riley Thilthorpe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGood on the Adelaide Football Club for taking a stand and saying we\u2019re not going to be propped up by that kind of money anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.afc.com.au\/news\/1286075\/crows-are-here-for-the-game\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">In a statement on the club\u2019s website<\/a>, Crows CEO Tim Silvers said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs an elite sporting club we know that we have a responsibility towards our fans, especially kids, to promote positive behaviours and attitudes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJoining the Here For The Game campaign is a great fit with that responsibility and it gives us another platform to be role models for youngsters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe would love for our fans and members to be at our games because they enjoy the atmosphere and the quality of athleticism and being part of the action, not because they feel a need to place bets on every kick.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gambling ads will be banned at all Adelaide Crows home games this season after the club signed on to the state government\u2019s \u2018Here For The Game\u2019 campaign challenging the normalisation of gambling in sport.
