Catch the full story on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/10NewsFirst?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@10NewsFirst<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/10NewsFirstAdl?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@10NewsFirstAdl<\/a> tonight at 5. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oesB6ZvVOw\">pic.twitter.com\/oesB6ZvVOw<\/a><\/p>&mdash; JESSICA TAYLAH HEATLEY (@JessHeatley10) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JessHeatley10\/status\/1641239396283211778?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 30, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to SAPOL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be alleged since August 2022 the pair stole large quantities of petrol and diesel from a number of service stations using a specifically modified white Toyota Hiace van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police are investigating 90 individual reports of theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thousands of dollars&#8217; worth of fuel was pumped into the van, jerry cans and tanks located inside the van and then paid for utilizing an app and fraudulently obtained credit card details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since January, the suspects ceased using the app and instead stole fuel by driving off without payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday 25 March, Western District Police attended a Cheltenham address, arrested two suspects and seized a van that had been modified with a 1000-litre fuel tank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There were approximately 420 litres of diesel in the tank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fuel tank was fitted with a bowser, hose and pump to distribute the stolen fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officers also located and seized two gel blasters from the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 28-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both from Cheltenham, were arrested and charged with multiple counts of making off without payment, possess a firearm without a licence and breach of bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were refused police bail and appeared in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 27 March.&nbsp;&nbsp;The man was remanded in custody and will re-appear on 10 May, the woman was bailed to re-appear in court on 3 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A Cheltenham pair have been arrested after they allegedly stole fuel from service stations on 90 separate occasions.<br><br>Police will allege the 28-year-old woman and 33-year-old man stole large quantities of petrol using a modified white Toyota Hiace van. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/P03Wa2vY8b\">pic.twitter.com\/P03Wa2vY8b<\/a><\/p>&mdash; 10 News First Adelaide (@10NewsFirstAdl) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/10NewsFirstAdl\/status\/1641219586359177216?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 29, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/fiveaa-sports-show-with-rowey-bicks\/rowey-timmy-g-podcast-29-march-2023\/embed\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write\" width=\"100%\" height=\"180\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"Rowey &#038; Timmy G Podcast - 29 March 2023\"><\/iframe>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police have arrested a Cheltenham couple in connection with the systematic theft of fuel from across the metro area.
