Hawthorn assistant coach Scott Burns has shot to the top of betting markets to take over as next Adelaide Crows coach.<\/h3>\n

Channel 7\u2019s Tom Browne says time \u201cis of the essence\u201d in Adelaide\u2019s search for its next coach, and says Burns leads the list of contenders.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning, Ladbrokes.com.au<\/a> listed Burns as a clear $1.90 favourite to coach the Crows, ahead of Michael Voss ($6) and Ross Lyon ($7).<\/p>\n

Burns played 256 games for Collingwood and has been an assistant coach at West Coast, Collingwood and Hawthorn.<\/p>\n\n

With Rutten basically officially earmarked to take over from Woosha, Scott Burns leads the race for Adelaide. They need to get a wriggle on.
