According to 7 News, the increases — which apply from 1 July — breakdown like this:<\/p>\n
Public transport – fares to increase between 1.8-2 per cent, with a single trip ticket rising from $5.50 to $5.60 and 28 day passes up from $99 to $100.<\/p>\n
Motor vehicle charges – motorists will see rego increases of around 5 per cent across the board, well above the inflation rate of 1.3 per cent.<\/p>\n
Four cylinders or less – from $126 to $132
\n\t\tFive or six cylinders – from $258 to $271
\n\t\tSeven or more cylinders – from $373 to $392
\n\t\tDrivers licence renewals – five and 10 year renewals will both increase by 4.5 per cent, taking them from $220 and $440 to $230 and $460 respectively.<\/p>\nSpeeding fines – speeding drivers will feel the brunt of increases, with high-range fines copping at 60 per cent rise.<\/p>\n
Less than 10kph – from $174 to $177
\n\t\tBy 10kph but less than 20km\/h – from $379 to $398
\n\t\tBy 20kph but less than 30km\/h – from $771 to $810
\n\t\tBy 30kph but less than 40km\/h – from $920 to $1472
\n\t\tBy 45kph and above – from $1036 to $1658
\n\t\tExpiation fees – those paying corporate fees will be hardest hit, with a 500 per cent increase from $300 to $1,800.<\/p>\nThose caught using their mobile phones will have to cough up $534, a nearly 60 per cent increase, while drink and drug driving offences will now cost $743.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
