The SES is warning residents to clean out gutters and take care on roads as Adelaide and SA gets ready for much-needed rain this week<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

According to SES<\/a> Chief of Staff Derren Halleday:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a heads up for people to prepare their homes before the wet weather arrives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a very dry start to 2019 so we know that leaf litter, twigs and other material will be blocking gutters, downpipes and drains.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis can result in significant damage to homes, especially if gutters overflow and the stormwater flows back into the roof cavity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is likely to be quite a bit of water over the roads. Combined with the dirt and oil already on the roads, the rain can result in driving becoming very hazardous.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s important that motorists drive to the conditions, reducing their speed where necessary, and ensuring they leave plenty of space between themselves and the car in front.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
