After Adelaide FC\u2019s contentious pre-season training camp was cleared by the AFL\u2019s integrity unit<\/a>, Graham Cornes is wondering where the camps critics have suddenly gone.<\/h3>\n

\u201cSo where are the apologies and the retractions?\u201d Cornesy writes in The Advertiser.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving endured criticism, ridicule and a season of torment from elements of the media and football public who were desperate to find fault and scandal, the Adelaide Football Club was finally exonerated by the AFL Integrity Unit.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever has a training camp produced so much criticism — ridicule even — over allegations that were false, fabricated, distorted and exaggerated\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is true that the club could have handled it better. There could have been more openness in response to the constant barrage of falsehoods, but in the end that strategy of \u2018never complain, never explain\u2019 was justified.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe issues that were deemed as serious were nothing more than minor irritations.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
