Damian Barrett has told Trade Radio:<\/p>\n
“Dayne Beams loves the Brisbane Lions, he loves everything about the Brisbane Lions, there are just reasons now why he doesn’t want to be there.<\/p>\n
“He’s not disgruntled with anyone at the club and he’s not disgruntled with the club itself, but he does want to break the contract that he’s got and return to Collingwood.<\/p>\n
“It’s only the Collingwood Football Club that he would explore the possibilities around returning to.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
In September Beams told teammates at the Brisbane best and fairest he considered returning to Victoria but ruled it out.<\/p>\n
“I’ve thought about going back to Melbourne and those discussions happened, and I’m not going to lie to you, I had those thoughts in my head,” Beams said at the time.<\/p>\n
“The one thing I kept coming back to is this group and you blokes — I bloody love you, I really do.<\/p>\n
“The last six months have been unbelievable. I’ve been able to connect with you on such a deeper level.<\/p>\n
“I can’t wait to see us progress as a footy team and a footy club and I know success is just around the corner.<\/p>\n
“That was a really driving factor in me wanting to stick around.<\/p>\n
“I love where we’re going and I love you boys, so thank you very much.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
