UPDATE – Thursday 23 November, 3:55pm<\/strong>: A man\u2019s body, believed to be wanted suspect Kevin Jewell, has been found several km\u2019s north of Curramulka, on the Yorke Peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to SAPOL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following information from a member of the public Police attended the intersection of Boundary and Brooke Roads, Curramulka about 11.30am this morning, Thursday 23 November, and located the suspect\u2019s white 2008 Mitsubishi Triton ute and a search found the man deceased about 150 metres away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man is believed to be 55-year-old Kevin Jewell, wanted by police in relation to the murder of 55-year-old, Jodie Jewell at their Modbury North home on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major Crime detectives and Forensic Response Section are making their way to the Curramulka property and will conduct a coronial investigation into the man\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no suspicious circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police thank the public for their assistance in relation to this matter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Major Crime Detectives have declared the death of a woman at Modbury North as a murder and have released images of the suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to SAPOL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 7pm Tuesday 21 November, police were called to a house on Kelly Road to check on the welfare of a woman living at the premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police searched the property and located a woman deceased inside the home. She has been identified as 55-year-old mother Jodie Jewell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detectives from Northern District CIB and Major Crime attended the scene along with forensic crime scene examiners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police believe that Jodie was murdered between 6pm and 6.10pm on Tuesday 21 November and died as a result of a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This morning, police obtained a warrant for the arrest of her husband Kevin Jewell (pictured) on the charge of murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police believe that Jewell left the scene in a white 2008 Mitsubishi Triton ute with SA registration XTN167. That vehicle was last sighted at 7.28pm last night travelling north, about 5kms south of Port Wakefield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jewell is considered dangerous and is believed to be in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The public are urged not to approach or engage with him but to contact police immediately and report his location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Jewell is aged 55 with an average build, 90kg, 178cm tall and scruffy appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superintendent Des Bray, Officer in Charge of Major Crime said, \u201cIf Kevin is watching, I make this appeal to him. Kevin you can\u2019t undo what has been done last night and a warrant has been issued for your arrest today. We\u2019re actively looking for you and we will locate you. I encourage you forthwith, without any delay to engage in a solicitor and negotiate your safe surrender to police\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
