Adelaide Crows forward Josh Jenkins says he is desperate to see Mitch McGovern stay at the club after seeing how badly the departure of Charlie Cameron last season hurt the team.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI spoke to him this morning and I echoed how much I still want him to stay,\u201d Jenkins told Fox Footy on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still see him and play with him every week, there\u2019s a reason we saw fit to give him a really big contract 18 months ago, because he\u2019s a really talented player with so much potential that didn\u2019t get to play in the Grand Final with us.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still think, whilst it seems like him and the club are ready to part ways, I still see how important he is for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But JJ admits he is unlikely to change McGovern\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably not, but I\u2019m gonna have a go, because I just see what the loss of Charlie Cameron did to us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe missed him more than we thought we (would), and I don\u2019t want that to happen with Mitch. It might be out of my control but I\u2019ll have a go.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

McGovern told the club during the week<\/a> that he wanted to leave despite still having two years to run on his current contract.<\/p>\n\n
